Reflecting on my Advanced Associate Fellowship (AFHEA)

I'm delighted to share that I've been awarded Advanced Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA), completed through the postgraduate teaching programme at the University of Stirling.

This fellowship is more than a certificate on a wall — it's a marker of a genuine period of reflection and growth in how I approach teaching and supporting students. Working through the programme gave me the space to think carefully about my practice: what works, what I want to do differently, and how I can keep improving as an educator.

None of this happened in isolation. I've been fortunate to have so many opportunities through my work at the university, from the colleagues who've shared their experience generously, to the students who've challenged and taught me in equal measure. I'm genuinely grateful for all of it. It's been a fun experience to learn with some of my PhD colleagues too!

Looking ahead, I'm excited to carry what I've learned through this process into my ongoing teaching and to keep building on this foundation. Achievements like this one aren't really endpoints, they're encouragement to keep learning and keep improving.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way.
